TTT: Books I need to read by the end of 2018

2018 was one of my worst reading years, but I am trying to look at the bright side. There have been so many things going on in my life, I`m just happy I managed to finish a book every now and then. Also, I am close to finishing my Goodreads challenge, even if it's a small goal. I still have two months left, but I`m trying not to push myself. I realised I tend to fall more into reading slumps when I`m harder with myself, so that`s why I`m pretty chill. I watch TV Shows and documentaries, I waste time on Youtube..and when I`m in the mood to read, I read like there`s no tomorrow. It would be ideal to finish all of these books before 2019, but I`d also be happy to read just half of these. To be honest, it all comes down to my mood, and that`s why I selected a variety of titles.

Contemporary:
YA contemporary was a bit of hit and miss lately, but I`m praying I`ll be luckier with these titles. One author that never disappoints is Adam Silvera, and I still have to read one of my most anticipated releases of 2018, "What If It`s Us". I also have high hopes for "Wintergirls" by Laurie Halse Anderson and "Far From the Three" by Robin Benway. Shocker, I still need to read "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas. I told everyone to pick up this book, yet I`m the one that needs to read it. I don`t know, the hype fear is real.

Fantasy:
I think I have 200 fantasy books on my TBR, but there are some titles I need to get to ASAP. I cannot talk about fantasy without mentioning "Muse of Nightmares". Although I took my time with "Strange the Dreamer", and some parts were disappointing, I want to continue on with the series.

Alas, I got "Children of Blood and Bone" and "To Kill a Kingdom" as soon as they got out, only to store them neatly on my bookshelf. And I refuse to be the type of person that buys new releases just for the sake of it, so I can have pretty pictures and overflowing bookshelves.

Historical Fiction:
Historical Fiction is one of my favourite genres, and I love it even more during Autumn/ Winter. Again, I have a long TBR, but I`m hoping to get to "Between Shades of Grey" and "All The Light We Cannot See" before this year ends.

Today`s Top Ten Tuesday was backlist titles, and I thought it went rather well with my post. These are not backlist titles per se, but I have been putting off these books forever. If I look back at older posts, some of these novels have been on my TBR for years, which is a disgrace. Cause I`m 90% sure I`ll love most of these titles.

    1. Strange the Dreamer was a disappointment for me. It wasn`t bad, but I didn`t love it as much as I thought I would.

  3. Far From the Tree deserves so much more hype than it got/gets. I loved it from the first line to the last line. I hope you read it soon!

    1. Although it`s underhyped, everyone that read it loved it. So I`m very excited to pick it up.

  4. I recently read The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up and really liked it. I saw in your other blog that you are trying the minimalist approach, so maybe add that to your list :)

    1. Strange the Dreamer was a letdown for me, but I hope the sequel will be better.

  6. I did the same thing with Children of Blood and Bone. I got it when it was released but I didn't have much time... and then I was saving it for the right time... and here we are at the end of the year with me still having not read it. Hopefully we both get a chance to read it soon, and good luck with your TBR!
