TTT: Recent Additions To My TBR

Hello, everyone! I am back from my holiday, and although work is hectic, I am back with a new post. Today`s TTT topic is about the latest additions to your TBR list, which is great, cause not a day goes by without me adding more books to Goodreads. Please don`t ask how many I actually read. I recently made a post about my most anticipated releases for the first half of 2019, and if you`re interested check that out as well. For today`s topic I`ve included both new releases and backlist titles, so let`s get down to business.

"Circle of Shadows" by Evelyn Skye
This is a brand new January release, and although it sparked my interest, I wasn`t sure whether I should read it or not. But then I got the book in my January Fairyloot, and the author`s message definitely convinced me to pick this up.

"Romanov" by Nadine Brandes
I am a history nerd, with a particular fascination regarding The Tudors and The Romanovs. Anastasia is such an iconic historical figure, and I`m really intrigued about a story in which she has magical powers. Granted, the romance is mentioned in the synopsis, and I`m not that keen on that, but hopefully, the narrative is strong enough to make up for insta-love.

"To Best The Boys" by Mary Weber
Girl scientists that don`t conform to society`s rules? Hell yeah! Add in a deadly competition where our protagonists have to dress like boys and I`m proper fangirling. As long as the novel won`t go into the "I`m not like the other girls" and insta-love tropes, we`ll have a kick-ass feminist story.

"We Rule The Night" by Claire Eliza Bartlett
"Shadow and Bone" meets "Code Name Verity". Wowza! From what I can tell, it will feature two strong, opinionated girls that form a complicated friendship, in order to survive a ruthless war. I`m not sure if it will be LGBTQ+ or not, but the plot looks interesting enough to make me run to the bookstore and spend my hard-earned money.

"Blood Heir" by Amelie Wen Zhao
"In a world where the princess is the monster, oppression is blind to skin color, and good and evil exist in shades of grey...comes a dark Anastasia retelling that explores love, loss, fear and divisiveness, and how ultimately it is our choices that define who we are". Another Anastasia retelling because in 2019 I`m living my lost princess dream.

"The Beautiful" by Renee Ahdieh
                VAMPIRES IN FREAKING NEW ORLEANS!

"To All The Boys I`ve Loved Before" trilogy by Jenny Han
After watching the movie for the third time, I`ve decided I should pick up the series because it`s clear that I`m in love with the story. I also heard that there`s a sequel coming out, so I`d like to be prepared in case it breaks my heart.

"A Curse So Dark And Lonely" by Brigid Kemmerer
Beauty and the Beast retellings can be a hit or a miss, but this is an author I`ve heard only great things about. I am currently reading this book, and let me tell you, it`s such a fresh take on the Beauty and the Beast tale. It`s soon to speak, but it might be one of my favourite books of the year.

What are the latest additions to your TBR List? Let me know in the comments.

  3. I adored A Curse So Dark and Lonely. It's a brilliant fantasy romance, and by far the best B & B retelling I've ever read.

  5. Great list! I haven't heard of The Beautiful, yet....which surprises me, as I'm trash for Renee Ahdieh! I'll have to look into that one. Also, To All the Boys I've Loved Before (the first book, at least...it's the only one I've actually read!) is super cute. I really should pick up the rest of the series, myself...

    Enjoy!
